| I
am always in search of answers to artistic completeness, and I enjoy the journey.
I moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1996 from South Bend, IN. I studied and absorbed everything
creative, spiritual, and scientific that was offered by Arizona Sate University.
While studying, I worked to develop my own style and techniques through painting
and sculpture. The desert landscape was an inspirational place to begin.
Academia is a journey that is taken only so far, and then there is reality. Through
travel, culture, and personal adventure I was able to express what I was, and
learned quickly what I was not. Self discovery is an important element and ingredient
for fine art. As an
artist my experiences translate into expressions. The results are artworks not
expressed through the act of painting, but in the gathering of information. I
believe we can't appreciate a piece of art unless we know the process and information
the artist used to begin a piece. I try to recognize that element of art making
in my daily life and become aware of it in my own work. In the years ahead I hope
to give back my understanding of information to the viewer through an intellectual
process of subject, color and form.
My artistic career is dedicated to Myah, the great and creative one to be. |
